Whales
The first exemplary of Southern Right Whale usually arrives to Puerto Madryn the first days of may. The quiet waters of Golfo Nuevo offers this species an ideal scenery to mate and raise their calves. But is not until middle June that whale watching is available: up to the boat you will enjoy the whale face to face. You have this possibility till middle December aprox.
By the way, between July and September we can admire the whales from the shores of El Doradillo and even better from Playa Cantera (20 Km north from PM), due to the characteristics of these places we can enjoy a unique and free show with various groups in a huge and Natural “swimming pool”

Penguins: by mid September they start coming and in December, the highlight of the season, they reach the million. They are a monogamist species that gather together at Punta Tombo. There is nothing but a basic-stuff store, guanacos and thousands and thousands of penguins, swimming, eating, fighting, making love, etc…
It is the best place to admire the species, the amazing quantity gives us the possibility to watch all the animals’ attitudes and share their different behaviors. The last season had penguins in this Natural Reserve till april 24th

Diving: Due to its geographic characteristics Puerto Madryn is the Argentinian capital of diving. The calm waters of Golfo Nuevo gives a great visibility of cold waters and the equipment you will find in our operators is from last generation.
