Puerto Varas - Chile

Welcome to Puerto Varas and its fantastic scenery and view to different volcanoes and the great Llanquihue Lake!

One of the most visited spots in Chile, located in the middle of the Chilean Lake District. Until now the town has conserved its special balance of rustic atmosphere with its middle European architecture and influences of new residents as well nationals as foreigners. Puerto Varas also has become one of the most popular entrances to Patagonia.

The 154 year old colonial town is reachable by ferry, plane, train or bus and even the mixture trip of 3 catamaran and buses coming from/to Bariloche (daily “Lake Crossing”).
Puerto Varas is also the major regional center for adventure and outdoor activities such as trekking, white-water Rafting in the river Petrohue, sea kayaking in the saltwater fjords, horse back riding in the forest by the feet of the famous volcanoes of the area (Osorno, Calbuco, Puntiagudo etc), rock-climbing, canoeing and fly fishing, mountain biking and bird watching and the more and more popular “canopy” in the pristine Chilean rainforest.
The second busiest airport Chiles (El Tepual) is located only 35 km far a way from town with many flight connections for Chile during the day and international flights connections to Argentina.
